A mixture of poems and visual art they really caught my attention. I have to say that i think this is a brilliant idea and raised more than a few …

Dublin Central: Mary Lou to rise again?

For two days now, the Irish political press have been getting very excited about a meeting (and possibly a round of golf ) that Brian Cowen had with Seanie FitzPatrick… So far, well nothing more than that… Back at Drumcondra there’s a rather tetchy fight going on at the paper Cumann once owned and driven by one Patrick Bartholomew Ahern (soon to be ex) TD. Ahern’s brother Maurice has been flatlining there for the last few outings, but it’s thought …

Dublin : What a difference 30 years makes!

If you are depressed by the economy today, Damian Corless’ look back at life in the Irish capital 30 years ago should cheer you up no end. If the past is a different country, Dublin in the summer of 1980 was Gaza with added rock festivals. There was nothing romantic about the foul smell wafting through the city streets from the Liffey. Despite a £25m war chest to fix the problem, factories upstream continued to spew out gloopy effluents that …
