October 03, 2005 should have gone to Madrid.. Just about all the news networks have reports on this morning's solar eclipse, here, here, here, and here.. oh, and here. A highlight movie is promised from Madrid.. and there are some good images online already, also from Spain. I would have checked it out here.. if it hadn't been completely overcast this morning. The next time a total solar eclipse will be visible here, UK and Ireland, will be 2090.. I guess I'll just have to book a trip to see one sometime before then. The next time a total solar eclipse will be visible here, UK and Ireland, will be 2090 . . . I think you forgot the necessary "barring dense cloud cover" after "visible". Posted by: John at October 3, 2005 04:10 PM I saw it from Barcelona this morning Pete. I can barely type this because of the huge pink and green flashing crescent in front of my eyes. Posted by: slackjaw at October 3, 2005 04:18 PM After this morning, John, I didn't think that would need to be spelt out. But, apart from the actual date of the next total eclipse visible from here [barring etc etc], it is an important additional reason for booking a trip to see an eclipse somewhere else. :) Posted by: peteb at October 3, 2005 04:18 PM Yeah go on, slackjaw, rub it in. ;) Posted by: peteb at October 3, 2005 04:20 PM I´m in Madrid and I watched the eclipse on the telly for want of suitable glasses. A very spooky light there was for a while there...
