What a lovely feelgood story.. I'll just point out the caveats since the BBC journalist failed to do so.

There's no mention of the number of solar panels required to produce the 4000 units of "eco-friendly electricity" the report claims. Not every building has the surface area the roof of a church has to put those panels on.

And there's no mention of the percentage of total energy consumption those 4000 units represent for the church concerned.

But 4000 is such a lovely round number.

Not at all, smcgiff. Just pointing to the relevant facts that are missing from the story.

Neither did it mention the width, length and breadth of a solar panel or it’s weight, colour, flexibility. Nor did the report get into the physics of solar energy.

None of the above or what you requested would have added to the message the piece was trying to get across. Solar panels are eco friendly.

Correct. Not every building has the same energy requirements of a church. Like for like.

Seeing as solar panels repay themselves in a shortish number of years, the percentage contribution is irrelevant.

Indeed. It is a report that is promoting a message. ie not really a report at all.

Call me old-fashioned.. but I like all the facts included when such a message is being presented.
