Overheard in Dublin, tonight...
RTE reporter to passing politician, "this story is live until Wednesday". That would bring us up to Peter Hain's announcement of 'confidence building measures' for Unionists. Then Northern Ireland presumably returns to the status of 'big sleep' in Dublin and the Republic.

If SF/IRA can get 72 hours out of this non-story I'll be amazed. Silly season is over and there are real issues to talk about.

Mick,
There's no way the Brit, Irish, US Govt's plus all the other parties are going to sit on this, whilst we wait for the DUP to make up its mind.
The show must go on. Expect increasing acceleration.

It was the main item in RTE News tonight, but there was surprisingly little time given to it.

SL: The show will go on in NI. But I'd guess the Republic's media is looking forward to checking out it for while.

And just where can anyone go without the DUP. Absolutely nowhere. Get real.

And just where can anyone go "with" the DUP. Absolutely nowhere. Get real.
