May 06, 2005 One snippet from England... Labour's most marginal seat before the election, South Dorset, has shifted to being slightly less marginal. Labour and the Conservatives slightly down with the Lib Dems and UKIP taking small per centages from them. This is the constituency that Blair started his campaign in, and had only ever had one Labour MP in before. Before 2001 the only time South Dorset went Labour was in the 1962 byelection - at the height of the Macmillan government's unpopularity and when the incumbent MP sponsored a rival Conservative candidate who split the vote.
