April 01, 2005 What have the Brits ever done for us (the cartoon)! Following on from British and Irish Lives Entwined a week or so back, Langerland have released this excellent cartoon. Our readers may have been at least part of the inspiration! It's already doing the blog rounds! Pass it on!! Very funny, even without sound, except I thought it was unacceptably vulgar over Wilde. Posted by: Colm at April 1, 2005 12:50 PM Jaysis Davros, Posted by: Dualta at April 1, 2005 01:01 PM Brilliant! And I'm taking the credit for No. 5. Posted by: SeamusG at April 1, 2005 01:29 PM Perhaps they were a little hard on Oscar. Posted by: Gonzo at April 1, 2005 01:31 PM 'Perhaps they were a little hard on Oscar.' I thought Oscar was a little hard on boysey (sp)! Oh, behave!! Posted by: smcgiff at April 1, 2005 01:32 PM Brilliant. Best laugh I've had since Joe Hendron, no relation to Oscar you understand, stuffed Gerry Adams in West Belfast. Posted by: Jacko at April 1, 2005 01:44 PM Behave yourself, indeed! Posted by: Mick at April 1, 2005 01:46 PM Good laugh! Posted by: spirit-level at April 1, 2005 02:48 PM 'Behave yourself, indeed!' If I could edit my comments I just might! Posted by: smcgiff at April 1, 2005 03:06 PM Very funny! I loved the one about Kevin Myers! Posted by: Young Irelander at April 1, 2005 03:31 PM "Much worse than the lesser known garlic cheese and chips famine...." Hilarious! The Kevin Myers bit was great also! Posted by: Stalford at April 1, 2005 03:52 PM These guys at Langerland are brilliant; when is the next installment? Posted by: Friendly Fire at April 1, 2005 04:10 PM What's the name of that song that plays when they comment on the Irish football team? It has escaped me. Posted by: Young Irelander at April 1, 2005 06:36 PM YI, the seminal "put 'em under pressure" d'apres "Dearg Doom" Posted by: Jimmy Sands at April 1, 2005 06:44 PM That's the one! Cheers, Jimmy. Posted by: Young Irelander at April 1, 2005 06:58 PM Fantastic!! Best laugh in ages! Posted by: maca at April 1, 2005 07:08 PM Hillarious! Davros, I see you are a prude as well as a pedant! Posted by: PaddyCanuck at April 1, 2005 07:16 PM Oscar's "mate" is W B Yeats, isn't it? Well, would've taken his mind off Maud Gonne for a while, I imagine. Posted by: Harboy at April 2, 2005 12:32 PM I know that to right wing Americans such as yourself Posted by: Davros at April 2, 2005 01:09 PM It's only black humour Davros and it is something all of us on this Island tend to enjoy.
