April 29, 2005 Orde: IRA hasn't gone away you know Though it seems to be carrying little weight in the actual election itself, the issue of whether or not the IRA is actually ready for standing down continues to bubble under. Hugh Orde declares he's waiting for actions rather than words. Thus far he's not seen anything that the IRA has any intention of winding up its operations. Did Orde make any comments on the continuation of unionist paramilitary activity Posted by: dermy at April 29, 2005 12:34 PM Since actions speak louder than words, I'd say Orde has said plenty about loyalism recently. Posted by: Gonzo at April 29, 2005 12:40 PM Gonzo Just interested in Orde's policing views on the present activities of the various loyalist groupings. Did he speak about this during the meeting Posted by: dermy at April 29, 2005 02:21 PM It's all too easy to see why Unionists have no faith in the PSNI. The election is only days away and this is all Orde has to offer. No dawn raid on some sleepy Shinners live on TV, the unmasking of Tony BLair on the IRA Army Council or perhaps the recelation that Gerry Adams is a 5 million year old Martian here to impregnate our womenfolk with his lizard seed. How is the electorate to know which way to vote with this kind of service? Posted by: barney at April 29, 2005 03:42 PM It's all too easy to see why Unionists have no faith in the PSNI. The election is only days away and this is all Orde has to offer. No dawn raid on some sleeping Shinner live on TV, no unmasking of Tony Blair on the IRA Army Council, not even the revelation that Gerry Adams is a 5 million year old Martian here to impregnate our womenfolk with his lizard seed. How can the electorate know which way to vote with this kind of service? Posted by: barney at April 29, 2005 03:45 PM mmmm... the securocrat duplicate cleverly corrected some typos. Top ho chaps. Posted by: barney at April 29, 2005 03:47 PM Gerry Adams said the IRA hadn't gone away (you know). He's asked them to consider going away. Hugh Orde says they're still there? The point of the comment attributed to Mitchell is...? Posted by: x at April 30, 2005 12:05 AM The ideal response to Mr Orde is "Yeah yeah yeah whatever...caught those bankrobbers yet?"
