Durkan: SF's mandate no incentive for a clean IRA
Mark Durkan has attacked Sinn Fein's public stance that it will seek a deal after the May elections, questioning how an increased mandate could provide any pressure upon the IRA to clean up its act, never mind contemplate decommissioning.

An increased mandate for Sinn Fein will perhaps have more of an impact on Mark and the Sdlps future.A weakened party with ever changing policies , post nationalist, agreed ireland, united ireland , seems to depend on what time of year!!!! I think its a question how big the increase will be.

When is Mark Durkan going to start talking about the SDLP rather than ranting on and on about Sinn Fein.

When is Mark Durkan going to start talking about the SDLP rather than ranting on and on about Sinn Fein.

Possibly when SF and the IRA stop leaving open goals in front of him ?

I don't think Davros really cares about whats best for irish nationalists....his hatred of republicanism is the most predominant and monotonously repeated trait noticeable in his postings. But being a unionist (politically) he will always favour the nice cuddly 'loyalty oath taking' SDLP...."by their friends shall ye know them".

Is this another sockpuppet I see before me ? etc, etc

Posted by: Davros at March 31, 2005 11:32 PM

Is it really that surprising that unionists prefer to deal with a group of people who disagree with them than a group of people who hate them?

Is Mark "Popeye" Durkan barking? He's weeks away from the electoral battle of his life and he's still talking about SF and not the SDLP.

At this rate the best he can hope for is to galvinise the core anti Republican SDLP vote, and in Derry there just isn't enough of them to hld John Hume's seat.

I suppose after his defeat he can always console himself by saying he did it the Attwood way.

Davros,

Sitting here in Foyle the sense is that Popeye couldn't score on a jotter, never mind an open goal.

DT - I didn't say anything about him scoring ;) He's the Emile Heskey of NI politics....

Davros

Rather unfair on Emile Heskey dont you think?

Davros
I thought we were going to have a sensible debate about Emile Heskey and wether he deserved his recall to the England squad.

Gary Lineker would be a better option BWD ;)

Posted by: Davros at April 2, 2005 06:58 PM

Davros
I dont think Gary Lineker would be acceptable to the SDLP supporters ;)
