January 31, 2005 Remission for McCabe killers gone The Limerick Leader is convinced that the Northern Bank raid has seen any deal to gain early release for the killers of Garda McCabe as definatively off the table. This is right too,the murder of Garda Gerry Mc Cabe was not political,it was a cold blooded criminal act.The killers should not now or ever get released,Criminality does not under the context of the GFA,these men can not claim to be freedom fighters,If Sinn Fein and the provos had any decency they would have disowned these people by now,after all it is against the Provisionals constitution to engage in armed activity against the Garda.These people should rot in jail.
