Interesting blog that, strange mix of subjects. Worth a look.

What does "bhloc" mean ? It's not in the on-line dictionary.

"ar an bhloc" = "on the block"

(i gcanúint Nua Eabhrac)

You've to drop the "h" Dav. The root word is just "bloc"

Such a complicated language for an old fart like me, grumble, grumble, grumble. One good thing from the ongoing Q&A controversy - on one of the linked shows I found out how to pronounce Tanaiste ! That aside I have ordered the Rakish Paddy Blues, which comes with a CD of piping and poetry in Irish. I won't understand what is being said, but I'll hear the music of the poetry, which is supposed to be very special.
