January 09, 2005 Ex British soldier planned heist? Here's the next twist in the story. Neil Mackay reckons the IRA didn't do it!: "The Striker is close to Italian mobsters, and was schooled by Valerio Viccei, the mastermind of the 1987 Knightsbridge safe deposit robbery which netted an estimated £62m". Ahem. Let's see how this one runs, especially so shortly after the Cheif Constable went public with his suspicions! Back to football : Who hit the net ? This one is gonna run to a spaghetti western.
Posted by: ShayPaul THis isn't an "either or" siuation. From the article : Although The Striker has a long-standing association with the Provisional IRA, his current connections to the Real IRA have now confused theories about who was behind the December bank raid." All this article does is to help confirm that republican terrorists were involved.
Posted by: Keith M Keith M It makes a hell of a difference.
Posted by: ShayPaul No offenc e Shay, but it only makes a difference to those trying to avoid putting the blame for this mess where it belongs, with SF and the IRA.
Posted by: Davros Davros If the Real IRA is behind this it makes a "hell" of a difference, and yes your last post was both offensive and unjustified.
Posted by: ShayPaul The Striker, jesus this is getting surreal. Notice to PSNI, buy the newspapers this week and look out for a white van for sale.
Posted by: Pat Mc Larnon No offence was intended. As the article points out he's known to have worked for both PIRA and RIRA.
Posted by: Davros Apparently, the Northern job is now the evidence that it was indeed the IRA which carried out the Castlereagh break-in. In today's Times: Well that's that sorted then. At that's one mystery solved. Hope Liam Clarke realises that although Bobby looks like an enormous lummox he is quite a sensitive guy and gets upset by these types of things.
Posted by: George Does the Striker story not read like a synopsis of a horrible hollywood movie - I wouldn't be surprised if the author is punting it around. In a few years the movie will be out. Please spare us.
Posted by: DCB 1 nil to Celtic at Parkhead does anyone know where the Striker is, Rangers need him asap.
Posted by: Pat Mc Larnon Storey can't be that sensitive, has anyone heard any suggestions that he's going to sue ?
Posted by: Roger W. Christ XVII has anyone heard any suggestions that he's going to sue ? Recognise a British Court and trust British justice ?
Posted by: Davros He has been convicted on IRA charges, chances of successfully sueing in those circumstances are zilch.
Posted by: Pat Mc Larnon Davros, re your 12:01 PM post. It's all just more crap newspaper talk. Until there are specifics - who knows ?
Posted by: abucs LOL ! Nice one Abucs!
Posted by: Davros The Striker, who was once in the British Army, has written a book about his escapades in Crotia, which has attracted attention from the film world; ". Recently, the Irishman published on the Internet the details of his interesting biography entitled "Millennium Memory." The manuscript also contains the details of the war operations and companionship with Gotovina. Cascarino's fascinating biography has attracted the interest of film makers amongst which is the famous film director Neil Jordan. Director of Dublin's M3M Media company Fergus Mac Oireachtaigh confirmed that he had read the manuscript and was in negotiations in relation to the electronic rights. "A true heroic and phenomenal story, concerning true heroic and phenomenal men." "Ireland will be proud," No doubt Mac Oireachtaigh will be rushing to snap up the film rights to his next book - title as yet undecided; http://groups.msn.com/CroatiaSweden/general.msnw?action=get_message&mview=1&ID_Message=556 As for General Gotovina; well, he's Belfast's only known war criminal ;-)spotted him myself down Kellys Cellars a few weeks ago -
