January 30, 2005 Co-ordinated approach by governments There is a growing sense of unity between the Irish and British Governments as they assess the current situation, and the way ahead. Evidence of that increasingly co-ordinated approach is the planned meeting in Downing Street on Tuesday - as the Irish Examiner reports, both the PSNI Chief Constable, Hugh Orde, and Garda Commissioner, Noel Conroy, will brief both Governments before Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Prime Minister Tony Blair compare notes on last week's meetings. Should there not have been a totally co-ordinated approach from the start of the process?
Posted by: Pat Mc Larnon I'm sure that there was co-ordination in the approach from the beginning, Pat.. but I still get the impression that both governments are coming closer together in their assessment of the problem and their approach to it - a unity of purpose, perhaps.
