All you need is love...
Lindy McDowell on that centennary, that statue, that robbery and rightly pointing out that SF will be celebrating hatred. Rally round the flag, boyos, to celebrate 100 years of hate

Comments (13)

I think Lindy is a tad worked up.

Is there anything specific with which you disagree ? ;)

Posted by: Davros [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 7, 2005 02:43 PM

Yeah, Lindy is criticising Sinn Fein so she is AN ENEMY OF THE PEACE PROCESS.

Burn her! Burn her!

Hey Lindy,

Just a thought, but you may want to put a few clothes on your sectarian views they look a little ..... ah ... eh.... orh...em ... well NAKED

What do you consider sectarian in her piece Devil ?

Posted by: Davros [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 7, 2005 02:57 PM

How is her article sectarian? Answer - it isn't. The only nudity here is the Devil's bare cheek in equating criticism of Sinn Fein with bigotry.

Davros,

did I say I disagreed with anything written by a plainly excitable unionist columnist for a unionist daily. God forbid

This is the centenary of Sinn Fein not the IRA of which Lindy speaks.

This IRA's centenary isn't for another 16 years, namely the time of the second Dail.

Her putting Griffith's memory with the Claudy bombers is the equivalent of me linking fellow Dubliner Edward Carson's memory with the butchering of the innocents in his home city in 1974 by the UVF.

Sad and pathetic or sap for short.

You are right. The SF of Gerry Kelly and MM have no right to claim Griffiths, just as the PUP/UVF have no right to claim the UVF of the Somme.

Um, since when, out of the IRA's "2000 murders" are "the vast majority" of them civilian? Taking a quick look at CAIN, it would appear that the majority of their killings were of British soldiers, RUC men, and loyalists.

So what, it's all right to flat-out lie, as long as you're talking about the IRA?

Typical hate-filled bile from the angry woman of unionism. 'Lilo lil' herself couldn't have put it better- Lindy must be a star up the Shankill.

Lindy McDowell wrote recently that she and her family were under UDA death threat. Now she's pissed off the Shinners as well. That makes her about middle of the road by any normal person's book - and if there are any normal people left on this website, I'm sure they'll agree.

Read Lindys column most Fri nights and anyone with an ounce of impartiality will see that she cannot be described as sectarian. I would imagine she is a hate figure for the bigots on both sides.
