Now there's a way to conscript canvassers for next year...

...and if you get caught posting on Slugger over the next week, you'll probably get lynched!!!

Posted by: Young Fogey [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 01:11 PM

How old is he? Isn't he rather young to be getting married?

Posted by: willowfield [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 01:12 PM

Willow, behave. Well for today at least!

Posted by: Mick Fealty [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 01:13 PM

Poor man, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, even a Unionist like Chris.

Posted by: maca [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 01:15 PM

Not for a second suggesting that it applies in THIS instance, but is this one reason for banning HHWs ?
LOL

Posted by: Davros [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 01:17 PM

HHWs ? LHWs !!! DOH!

Posted by: Davros [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 01:20 PM

Do I celebrate having comments removed or hang my head in shame - point accepted - other than to say that marriage is a wonderful leveller and that children bring out emotions (and exhaustion) that you never knew you had.

Posted by: The Dog [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 02:14 PM

Health and happiness to both of them.

Congrats to Christopher on this special day. I wish him and Mrs. Stalford all the best for the future (except in terms of his candidature in Laganbank).

However, it would be a pity if Mr. and Mrs. Stalford were away on a honeymoon or were otherwise disposed when Big Ian puts his mark on the DUP's (seemingly imminent) 'Fair Deal' with Sinn Fein/IRA that Chris has worked so hard to promote!

Posted by: Mark Dunn [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 03:51 PM

Maybe the Stalfords don't want to be in Ulster on the day that Paisley signs up to the Belfast Agreement?

Posted by: willowfield [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 04:01 PM

Was my joke that bad that it needed to be removed? :(

Posted by: maca [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 04:11 PM

I'm surprised mine survived !

Posted by: Davros [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 04:13 PM

Young? Isn't Stalford at least 35?

Posted by: NeoCon [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 05:35 PM

All the best to Christopher, (and new wife too of course)
Just a shame that some of the junior UUP staff couldnt stick to the thread without having to put their tuppence worth of snide comments in on a non-political thread.

Maybe he'll work the wedding pictures into the election literature! ;-)

Health and happiness indeed to Christopher Stalford and his bride.

I wonder if it will mellow him...

Posted by: George [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 05:37 PM

Maybe we'll get an indepth expose of the honeymoon in the Newsletter when he returns!

Posted by: Will [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 05:39 PM

All the best Christopher.

Despite our regular heated, yet enjoyable discussions up at the the ranch, ur not a bad fella.

Wishing u and 'the wife' every success and happiness.

Good luck for the future (married life, not the election!), and I look forward to your bride becoming the latest Sluggerette to get online!

Posted by: Belfast Gonzo [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2004 06:25 PM

Snide comments? I must apologise for my colleagues, we really must try to live up to your standards will!

Be nice Roger A.U.

congratulations, hopefully there will soon be many sprogs to protect Ulsters future.

Protestant women must have kids to ensure our future. The Papist conspiracy is all around us. We must ever be on guard.

God Save The Queen.

I've had my spats with Mr. Stalford but even I wouldn't wish this sort of misfortune on any man!

Posted by: PS [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 4, 2004 02:40 PM

Congratulations Christopher
Wish you hope and happiness and long life together.
I do hope you won’t mellow with marriage; it’s more fun if you stay the way you are

Thank you all very much for your kind comments.

Except you Dunn, you swine! ;-)
