Ideas Factory: media masterclasses in Belfast…

IDEASFACTORY Northern Ireland is the channel’s flagship talent initiative aimed at inspiring, supporting and developing broadcast media talent among the 16 – 34 year old age groups (though it will appeal to any creative practitioner irrespective of age)… i.e. practitioners keen to develop and extend their broadcast media careers. Attached please find our latest press release outlining forthcoming details of our on-going programme of creative industry masterclasses run in association with Belfast City Council.

I attended a masterclass in music doumentary making as part of last years Belfast Film Festival. The practictioners that gave presentations were informative and interesting. There was then a chance to discuss your work with them in an open forum style and i found the whole experience worthwhile.
I do think that there is an element of “talent trawling” but aside from that i would recommend anyone interested in any of the subjects to stick your name down and go along. If nothing else it will perhaps help you to get a clearer idea as to the possibilities and in some cases, limitiations of your ideas.
